My version of this verse says "She sees that her trading is profitable." A hearty AMEN! When we are willing to do all these things the Lord has laid out for us in these verses, then He returns the blessings double fold. I couldn't list all the ways the Lord has blessed us in our "tradings." But here are a few: Daycare!
Volunteer work the kids and I do has just blessed Caleb with a summer day camp full scholarship.
Serving the Lord in church without thought to how much time or energy it is taking - just pure joy, has often been blessed by the Lord through random gift cards arriving.
The list goes on and on. How humbled I am to be serving the Creator of the Universe who still cares, loves and watches over the needs of his beloved children. Thank you so much Lord for allowing me to be part of your work.
Have a great day working for the Lord. He is the best boss we could ever ask for. :)
Oh Yeah, a few words from Laine on this passage: She has plenty of oil which signifies strength for her family. She is light as He is light. It does not mean that she doesn't sleep; it means that she is always ready for what He should have her to do. She was a seller of merchandise (linen garments) and a light in the window told those around her she had garments for sale. She was an enterprising woman. We can't help but think of the wise and foolish virgins of the parable in Matthew 25:1-13. This was a woman who was counted with the wise. Ready. Prepared. Alert.
I love how the woman in this passage is always ready to serve the Lord! No matter what time of day! even at night! She was ready for anything that He might have her do!
I am with you Sonja on how the Lord has provided for us recently through our church family (here and extended) when we really needed it! We have had very similar things happen to us as well. I know that each time we have a situation like that happen, that God is showing us that He is the one who provides!
