Reflection: {Week #6}

Wow, ladies, we've made it through Week #6 of our Intentionally Focused study!  Only 2 more weeks to go!  As this post is getting posted a little late this weekend, I hope you take the time this weekend to reflect back on this past week's study time.  What are some things that the Lord laid on your heart this week?  What did you learn through digging into God's Word this week?

With only 2 more weeks to go, I wanted to ask whether we should continue with another study right away or take a couple of weeks off then start up again later...what do you ladies think?  I would love your feedback!

Now on to our questions for the week...

1.  What is your favorite animal?

2.  Do you have any pets?  If so, what do you have and its name?  If not, what pet would you love to have (if any)?

3.  What is the most unusual animal you have ever seen?

4.  Would you rather go to a farm, a circus, a zoo, an aquarium, or a butterfly garden?

Have a happy Sunday, ladies!

Reflection: {Week #5}

Hi, Ladies!

It is Saturday!  Yay for the weekend!  It is also that time of the week where we get to reflect back over our time spent with the Lord this week.  What has challenged you this week in regard to your friendships?  What are some things that the Lord laid on your heart that encouraged you, taught you, spoke to you, or strengthened within you through your study time this week?

And, now, some questions for you to answer about yourself:

1.  What is your favorite color?

2.  Do you have a life verse?  What is it?

3.  Who is your favorite female Bible character?

4.  On a rainy day, would you rather watch movies all day, read a book, play games, go for a drive, or go out and run and dance and sing in the rain?

Enjoy this rainyish day today!  And, have a great weekend!

Happy 4th of July! Week #3: {Reflection}

Hi, Ladies!

Happy 4th of July!

Wow!  Where has the week gone?!?!  How was your week?  How was the Bible study in intentionally focusing your mind?  What's the one thing you learned through your study time this week.  Well, it's that time again to look back over your time spent studying God's Word this week...to reflect on what God pressed into your heart and mind...to perhaps catch up on the study...whatever you need this weekend for.

In light of our nation's birthday celebration this weekend, I thought our get-to-know-you questions would be themed around that...  Have fun answering!

1.  What is your favorite RED thing and WHY?

2.  What is your favorite WHITE thing and WHY?

3.  What is your favorite BLUE thing and WHY?

4.  What is your favorite thing to do on the 4th of July?

5.  If you could, which of our former U.S. presidents would you rather meet and talk to...George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, or Ronald Reagan?

Have a great holiday weekend!

Reflection: {Week #2}

Hi, Ladies!

It's the weekend again and that time of the week where we get to reflect back on our week...especially our times throughout the week spent with the Lord and digging into His Word.  How was your week?  What are a few things God has pressed on your heart or taught you this week in terms of intentionally focusing on your spiritual life?  Perhaps you need this day as a grace day to catch up on the study?  Take this time this weekend to reflect and be refreshed.

Now, I'd like to turn the corner here to ask a few get-to-know-you questions.  Since the season is upon us and since our family is in the midst of one here (and it seems I can't think of anything else but this topic), I thought I would theme our questions about YARD SALES.  So, here we go:

1.  Do you go to yard sales?  If so, what is your best find at a yard sale?

2.  What 3 possessions of yours would you never want sold in a yard sale or any sale for that matter and would rather see passed on to your children, grandchildren, etc.?

3.  Would you rather go yard sale shopping, grocery shopping, shoe shopping, or clothes shopping?

Week #1: {Reflection}

So, how was your week?  How was your time spent in the Word this week?  Take some time over this weekend to reflect on the passages we studied this past week.  What was the Lord teaching you this week?  No need to share your answers to these reflection questions...they're just here to challenge us to reflect and respond to what we were studying this past week.

And, without further adieu...

In honor of my kiddos' last day of school today, I thought it would be fun to ask some school-related get-to-know-you questions.  My apologies if just the thought of you and school bring back any bad memories.  ;)  So, here we go:

1.  What is your best school memory?

2.  What were your extracurricular activities in school?  Band, choir, student council, sports teams, etc.?

3.  Who was the best teacher you ever had in school and why?

4.  What was your favorite subject to study in school?

5.  Would you rather go to gym class, art class, music class, library, or lunch?

Have a great weekend, ladies!  Have fun celebrating all of the dads in our lives!

Just a Few Things Before We Begin...

Hi, Ladies!

I'm so glad that you are joining in this study!  I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses each and every one of you to teach, help, and encourage one another throughout this study.

One thing that I think is important before we begin is to set some goals for this study so take some time between now and Monday to prayerfully consider setting 2 or 3 goals to look back on at the completion of this study.  You do not need to share these goals in the comments section as they are personal and between you and God.

Another thing that I want to stress is that you do not need to share anything that you do not feel comfortable sharing.  Please do not feel pressured to share anything that you do not want to and please do not feel judged for anything that you do share.

Next, for any of you who love technology or love using the Bible App by LifeChurch.tv.  This study plan is on there!  All you need to do is search for "Good Morning Girls Intentionally Focused" and then start the plan.  You can even set reminders for yourself for a certain time of day to study the verses for that day!

Okay, now it's time to get to know one another and practice sharing in the comments section below.  So, some time today or tomorrow, take the time to answer the following:

1.  Share a little bit about yourself.  Who are you?  Are you married and for how long?  Do you have any kids, how many, and what are their ages?  Where did you grow up at?  How long have you lived in the Mount Washington Valley?  Do you work and what is it that you do for work?  What is your birthdate (no need to give the year)? Share 3 words that you would use to describe yourself.  How old are you and how much do you weigh?  (Okay, you don't have to answer those last couple questions!  Hehe!)  :)

2.  Name 3 hobbies or things you like to do with your time.

3.  Would you rather go biking, hiking, or swimming?

I'm sure we are all looking forward to reading each other's answers!

Monday is almost here!

father's day questions

Since today is Father's Day, can you guess what these questions are going to be about?  You guessed it, DADS!

1.  Are you more of a "Mama's Girl" or a "Daddy's Girl"?

2.  Using the letters from the word FATHER, describe your Dad AND describe your husband as a father.

3.  Name a few memories you have of your father or from time spent with your Dad.

4.  What is one thing you admire the most about your Dad AND about your husband as a Dad?

I realize that maybe some of you ladies may not have had a Dad's presence in your lives growing up so please tailor these questions to meet what fit your childhood or even present day.  Perhaps, it was your Mom who was always there so you can think of her when answering the questions!  My apologies in advance if these questions bring up some bad or bitter thoughts and memories of your Dad.  Enjoy your day, ladies!

And, Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there!

thank awana for these questions :)

Okay, so I've been digging into Awana books over the past few days, and I really cannot come up with any questions to ask on my own as I write this (my mind is just turning to mush...ever know the feeling?) so I am going to "borrow" a few questions from these Awana books and then spinning some questions off of them.  They're more thought provoking and/or silly than anything!  Have fun!

1.  How many times a day do you eat?  What would happen if you only ate on Sundays?  (Do you hear the challenge in those 2 questions????)  Also, what is your usual Sunday meal?

2.  What is the center of gravity?  Spinning off of this question, what was your favorite subject in school?

3.  What's an astronaut's favorite sandwich?  What is your favorite sandwich?

4.  How do you get a baby astronaut to sleep?  What is one way you got your babies to sleep?  (For those who may not have had babies yet, either take notes or name a way that you've seen babies get to sleep that you can't wait to try on your own babies.)

Have a great Sunday, ladies!  Enjoy it!

rainy day questions

Since we are seeing a lot of rain here in the Northeast, I thought we would have some questions about the rain because I know we are not thinking about it at all.  For me, I LOVE the rain and especially a good thunderstorm!  In fact, you probably don't know this and probably could care less knowing this, but when I was growing up, I always said that I wanted to live in Seattle, Washington because I heard it rained there a lot; in fact, I even looked into a college there.  (I guess I picked the wrong corner of the country!  BUT, I'm sure now you can sleep better tonight knowing all of that very pertinent information!)  :)  Ok, now, on to the questions!

1.  Do you have any childhood memories with your family that involved rain?  If so, name one or two.

2.  What are three of your favorite things to do in the rain nowadays?  What were three of your favorite things to do in the rain when you were younger?

3.  Describe yourself using the letters in the word RAIN as an acronym.

4.  What did you do on this wet weekend?  (I don't know about you, but I'm always looking to gain fresh ideas to do on wet, rainy, inside days!)

Enjoy this rainy, inside day, ladies!  One thing is for sure...rain showers provide the perfect weather to relax and take an afternoon nap especially on this day of rest!

See you all here tomorrow!

questions! questions! questions!

First and foremost, I have been struggling this week to stay up on my Bible study and this blog. I have been encouraged every morning to at least read the verses for the day and then at the end of a long and tiring day read over what God has encouraged and/or challenged all of you ladies with through your studies. Thank you, ladies, for your faithfulness to God's Word and for the encouragement and blessing you have been to me especially this week. (I love how you didn't even know that God was using you and your words!) I'm thankful to have this blog and this Bible study in place to give me a plan as to know what to come back to when I stray.
Now, on to the questions...
1. What are your Memorial Day weekend plans?
2. I know that Memorial Day is primarily about honoring and remembering fallen soldiers of war, but I thought we could honor and remember those soldiers as well as any other soldier that we know who have served or are currently serving our country in the military. SO, please list all of your family members or close family friends that you care to mention here who have lost their lives serving in the military and all of those who have served or are currently serving our country in the armed services. To make things more interesting, please list the branch of the military they served or are serving in.
3. Since this is also graduation time, what is one thing you remember from your high school or college graduation?
4. Remembering back through your childhood days, what is the one thing you always wanted to be when you grew up?

it's sunday...

...and you know what that means!  Question Time!!

1.  What is your favorite picnic food?

2.  Which would you have more fun doing with a bunch of ladies...crafting, watching and/or going to a movie, playing games, or going shopping (for knick-knacks, antiques, clothes, and the like)?

3.  Spinning off of verse 16 from our study this week, what is one "field" in your life that you had to prayerfully consider and then "buy"?

4.  And since I didn't get the reflection questions posted yesterday:  What is one thing that challenged you or encouraged you from this past week's verses?
Have a great day today praising, worshiping, and fellowshiping in the body of Christ and enjoying the sunny weather!

mom's day questions

To all of the mothers out there, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Thought this was so cute!  :)

On to the questions:

1.  Using the letters in the word "MOTHER," describe your mom!

2.  What is one thing that you most admire about your mom and one thing in regards to your mother-in-law (by the way, I'm not trying to earn any brownie points here :) )?

3.  What is one word that you hope your kids (or your future kids) would use to describe you as a mother?  (To make things interesting for those who have kids, ask your kids what that one word would be to describe you as a mom right now.)

And, just for fun!

And, just because we were talking about being queens of our homes this past week...

Have a great day, ladies!  Again, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

ANNOUNCING OUR NEXT STUDY!!!

Please take these next three days off to rest, relax, and be refreshed knowing that God loves you and cares for you!  (Of course, you will want to spend time in God's Word and talk to Him, but at least there is nothing you HAVE to do or read...just enjoy being with Him...and not that planned studies prevent you from enjoying being with our Lord...ok, I'll stop!)

On Monday, April 30th, I am excited to start our new study!  Are you????  I can't wait!

Are you wondering what we will be studying?
Wait no longer.....we will be studying  *drum roll, please*

PROVERBS 31!!!!

I will e-mail the reading plan for this study and the ebook information to you so look for all of that in your inbox.

I apologize for the short notice for this study.  I hope the next three days gives you a little bit of time to prepare for this next study.  ALSO, now that we all know what this accountability blog group is all about and what we do...I want to reiterate that this is not an exclusive group...if you have thought of other ladies as you were going through the Ephesians study who would have loved and thrived to have been a part of it, by all means please invite them to join us (even if they don't live around here).

Meet with you all here on Monday!

[AND...by the way, it just so happens that the website that I got this Bible study accountability group idea off of (www.goodmorninggirls.org) is also doing a summer book club of the same Proverbs 31 ebook, but their groups are starting a couple of weeks after we are beginning our study and going longer.  I didn't particularly like their reading plan as it seemed too spread out, SO I took their outline and condensed them.  I was so happy to see that the "good morning girls groups" were doing the same thing we were and loved that the adminstrator included extra verses to go along with Proverbs 31.  (I don't want you to think that I came up with the entire reading/study plan all on my own as I was just going to do a verse a day from Proverbs 31 - I know, real creative, huh?  :o)  BUT, I love how the Lord leads and guides when you seek His leading and guidance, and He was definitely leading and guiding here.)]

******************************
NOW...
Just for fun today, I thought I would ask a few light-hearted questions:

1.  Besides the given of watching/spending time with your husband and kids, what is your favorite thing to do...Inside your house?  In your yard?  In your car?  In town?
2.  Which dessert would you choose:  cookies, cake, ice cream, pie, or cheesecake?

3.  If you could learn one of the following skills, which one would it be?  carpentry, plumbing, electrical, auto repair, or woodworking?

I'm looking forward to meeting you all here on Monday!

questions of the day

Well, first and foremost, thank you all for coming last night.  (We did miss the few that couldn't come though - a couple due to not living around here!)  It's always fun and great to get together with friends for some yummy food and relaxing conversation.

Since I didn't get any question suggestions last night, it has taken me a while to come up with any questions.  I was trying to go for a Palm Sunday/April Fools' Day theme here, but I struggled.  Regardless...have fun with these questions!
  1. Since Palm Sunday is the day that we remember Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey essentially fulfilling prophecy...based on your personality, which animal would you find yourself most likely desiring to try to ride if the possibility presented itself...donkey, bull, camel, elephant, eagle, or dolphin AND why?
  2. Speaking of Palm Sunday and the events leading up to Easter Sunday and remembering how Jesus gave specific instructions to some of His disciples to get the donkey to ride and how and where to prepare the Last Supper and so forth  (it amazes me how God is in every detail of our lives!)...what is one specific thing or event that God has done in your life that you are just so amazed at how He orchestrated it and how He brought it all together to be accomplished?
  3. Name 3 things that make you laugh just thinking about them or that have made you laugh in the past 24 hours.
  4. What are 3 of your favorite blogs or websites that you have visited or visit most frequently?
Have a restful and replenishing Palm Sunday!

(By the way, be sure to congratulate Sarah W. on her news of expecting TRIPLETS!)

(April Fools!)

spring questions

Since the first day of SPRING occurred this past week (although it felt more like summer), I thought I would ask a few SPRING-y questions.  Have fun!

1.  What is your favorite SPRING flower?

2.  What is one thing that you love, respect, and admire about your husband that just plain puts an extra SPRING in your step just thinking about it?

3.  Three things I love about SPRING are: __________, ____________, and _____________.

4.  What is one thing you hope to accomplish or complete by the end of SPRING?

Have a super Sunday worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, getting some rest, and enjoying this nice SPRING weather!

st. patrick's day questions

Sorry, ladies...I forgot to post the reflection questions yesterday.  I trust that you all know the 3 reflection points by now though and that you take a little bit of time this wonderfully gorgeous weekend to reflect on all that we read and studied this past week.  There was so much to be challenged with, wasn't there?!

Now, time for a little fun!  Since St. Patrick's Day was yesterday, I thought we would theme our questions around that special day... here we go...

1.  Name 3 of your favorite GREEN things.

2.  If you found a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, what is the first and second things you would do with the money?

3.  Name one thing that makes you "turn green in the face" or "green around the gills;" one thing that makes you "green with envy;" and one thing that you try to do to "go green."

4.  What is your favorite marshmallow shape in a box of Lucky Charms and why?  :o)  (I know, you probably could care less about Lucky Charms, let alone have a favorite marshmallow shape, but just humor us all on this!  AND, for those who don't know what the shapes are, I included a picture!  I think those are all of the shapes!)  :o)

Have a wonderful day of worship and rest and enjoy the Son and the sunshine today!

questions-think of it as a variety!

1.  What are some Easter traditions that your family had growing up or that your family does today?

2.  Because I have hockey on my mind right now and in celebration of the Kennett Eagles and their state championship WIN today, what are 3 of your most memorable moments in high school?  (either in school itself, being with friends, in sports, in other extracurricular activites, or whatever)
3.  What are 3 of your favorite board games to play?

4.  What do you have planned for supper this week?  (Can you tell I'm looking for some ideas???)  :)

Have a super Sunday!

sunday questions

How can it be Sunday again???  This week has just flown by!
1.  Since our verses this past week included reading and studying about spiritual gifts, I naturally thought of this question...what is your spiritual gift or gifts?  AND, how are you using that gift or how is the Lord leading you to use that gift differently?
2.  I know that we all either have kids, are teaching kids, beginning to have kids, plan to have kids in the future, have nieces and nephews, have grandkids, and/or have been a child once upon a time :) SO...what are your top 5 all-time favorite children's books?
3.  What would your dream car be?

4.  Name one unusual thing in your purse, in your refrigerator/freezer, and in your car.

5.  WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN ME FOR BREAKFAST NEXT SATURDAY MORNING????  =)  (Tune in this week for more details regarding time and place!)
Can't wait to start a fresh this week and hopefully see you all next Saturday morning!

Have a great day of worship, ladies!
